 Gallery Talk: Melanie Herzog on Far Out: Art from the 1960s
Thursday, August 2, 2018. 1-1:45 pm. Professor Melanie Herzog will discuss Far Out. Inspired by the rebellious ethos of the modernist avant-garde as well as the "question everything" spirit of the '60s, artists transformed aesthetics, styles and subject, and assumptions about the primacy of the art object and art's place in society. Melanie Herzog is a professor at Edgewood College where she teaches a art history courses reflecting gender, race and ethnicity, and socially engaged art and artists, among other subjects. Friday, April 20, 2018 through Saturday, June 30, 2018. 4-6pm. Opening Reception at Tivoli is April 20th from 4-6pm. Robert attended Madison College in his 20s to pursue a degree in Commercial Art. During college, he found his passion for figure drawing and working with charcoal. In 2009, Robert drew his best friend in charcoal. His India ink drawings are a creative curvature study of light and shadows, while his unique approach to charcoal drawings is comprised of erasing the image from a paper that is covered in black charcoal.
