Sterling North wrote over thirty books, the most famous being an autobiographical account of his adventures with his pet raccoon Rascal. He also wrote So Dear to My Heart and The Wolfling.  The Metal Children
Tuesday, September 25, 2018. 7:30 pm. The La Crosse Public Library, UW-La Crosse's Murphy Library & the Alternative Truth Project, will perform a free staged reading of the play, The Metal Children by Adam Rapp. This reading supports Banned Book Week which occurs annually to raise awareness about the dangers of censorship and threats to freedom of speech. The Metal Children tells the story of an author whose novel about teen pregnancy ignites a firestorm in small-town America. Free.
